I've written about this before. I've posted about it on social media repeatedly. I even gave up a couple times and let y'all do whatever you wanted to do. I thought this was a good time to rephrase and reframe, because Facebook is still the thing that most of my students ask about, and I can't in good conscience not provide this information to you. This article is not meant to freak you out or to make you feel guilty - it is meant to educate.
If you're just starting your Facebook page, chances are that you may be a start up or running on a shoestring budget. It's important to maximize your marketing efforts without spending a lot of money. With a billion people on Facebook it's almost guaranteed that your target audience is there, but how do you get them to like your page?
I'm not going to beat around the bush with this post: requiring people to share a post in order to be entered into a Facebook contest is a violation of Facebook's terms and conditions. Catch the eye of the Facebook watchdogs and you'll get a warning. Ignore the warning, and one day you could log in to your page only to find that it's disappeared and your account has been suspended.
