Your Facebook Page: Updates Coming in the Next Few Weeks
You may (or may not) be aware that your Facebook page will look different by the end of the month. Don't be surprised when you log in on April 1st and think you're being pranked. Your page will automatically convert to the new layout, but this doesn't mean you should consider the update hands-off - keep a close eye to ensure that your Facebook page looks the way you want it to!
Some good resources:
- The information in your About section will show up in the left-hand column. What this means: users will not have to click through to view it, increasing the visibility (and importance!) of this section
- The information in the left-hand column can be rearranged by admins (just like with your personal profile). What this means: you have the flexibility to put the most important info at the top
- There will be an at-a-glance dashboard to the right of your cover photo, with information like ads running, post reach, and messages. What this means: less clicking to see the information you need
- "Tabs" are no longer featured on your page - they are tucked away in the 'more' section. What this means: you may need to rethink your strategy if you are generating traffic through tab applications (i.e. newsletter sign up). Those that use tabs just to fill the space won't notice any difference :)
