January 22, 2012 is the date that my business legally came into existence. Which means that I am 5 years old today! I am amazed and happy and proud that I have lasted this long - I feel like I have passed some sort of threshold where now things will all come so much easier. I have a feeling that’s not true, but a girl can dream, OK.
Ever read those blog posts about people who have just returned from a digital detox deep in the mountains where there was no service and so all they did all day was journal, and sip tea on the balcony, and enjoy nature, and do yoga, etc. etc.?
That sounds amazing. But realistic? Not for me, and maybe not for some of you as well.
Last weekend I had the great pleasure of attending the Women Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan annual conference in Saskatoon. Scroll down to check out the highlights!
Last week one of my blog posts, How to use social media to promote your event, was featured in the Daley Progress newsletter, which you can read in its entirety here. When I had a chance to finally sit down and read the newsletter, it got me thinking about Regina social media use and event promotion.
I am pleased to be the featured blog in the premiere issue of Women Business Owners Today (Saskatchewan Edition)! Check out page 12-13 for the details!
Check us out on the Global Regina Morning News! Jason Orban of Think Big Studios and I joined Kent Morrison in the wee hours of the morning (OK, 6:40am, but it was still dark out so it felt like 2am) to talk about Think Big 2014. Danielle Carrier, of Daley Progress Inc. was not able to make it, but was with us in spirit :)
On Oct 18th I sat down with Mark Melnychuk of The Leader-Post to discuss the state of women in tech in Saskatchewan. Over a coffee at the French Press I talked about my personal experiences in this still-male-dominated industry, as well as my thoughts and opinions of the industry as a whole. A few days later I popped in to The Leader-Post office to have my picture snapped, and the results can be found on the front page of the business section!
