Copy iPhone Photos to Your Mac With a Single Tap

You take all of your photos on your iPhone, but you want to edit them before you post, and the editing apps on your phone just aren’t up to snuff or you just prefer to work from your laptop or desktop. Maybe you’ve lost your cable. Or maybe you can’t figure out Photos.

Today is your lucky day. Today I’m going to show you how to get the photos from your iPhone without having to sync your devices, fill up your Dropbox/Drive account, or send yourself a dozen emails with the photos attached.

How to Use Facebook Live Screenshare

How to Use Facebook Live Screenshare

Up until a week ago, in order to do a screenshare on Facebook Live you had to use third party software like OBS - Open Broadcaster Software (free but steep learning curve) or Be.Live (easy to use but expensive). I was super pumped when Facebook announced that they had added built-in screensharing functionality to Facebook Live! Here is how it works.

How To Schedule a Facebook Share

How To Schedule a Facebook Share

This is one of those blogs that I’m writing because people keep asking me this question time and time again! Facebook doesn’t have a built-in way to schedule shared posts but sometimes for business purposes, we need to do this. Why?

  1. Sharing other people’s content is important - social media doesn’t really work if we don’t share
  2. We don’t want to overwhelm our audience with a bunch of back-to-back posts

How to Like a Facebook Page as Your Business Page

How to Like a Facebook Page as Your Business Page

Some people like to keep their newsfeed strictly for friends and family, and then use their business page newsfeed to keep updated on any business news, info, and networking opportunities. Unfortunately, Facebook keeps moving/changing the buttons that let us do this so it's a question that I get asked over and over again. That means it's time for a blog post!

Best Times to Post on Facebook

Best Times to Post on Facebook

This is a bit of a follow-up to this post I wrote explaining why you should always be wary of articles or studies claiming to know the best times to post on social media. The feedback I got was "Great points - but I still don't know when the best time is for *me* to post." So I thought I'd do a quick tutorial on how you can figure this out for yourself.

How to Change Your Facebook Page Name and Username

How to Change Your Facebook Page Name and Username

Since we all know how much Facebook likes to tweak and update its platform, it's possible that you'd like to change some settings on your Facebook Page but those settings are not where you remember them being! On top of that, there are plenty of times when you try to make the changes and get an error or the buttons are greyed out. This post also outlines the issues you may run into and potential solutions.

Never Miss an Update From Your Fave Business on Facebook

The Facebook algorithm does it's best to give us the content IT THINKS we want (it is partly based on the posts we've interacted with in the past, so it's at least partially accurate).

However, there are times when I've sat at my computer and wondered if a certain business left Facebook or became inactive or went out of business - then I go to their page and BAM they have been posting great stuff every day - but Facebook's algorithm filtered those posts out for whatever reason.

Luckily, there is a way to get around this if there are pages out there that you REALLY love and never want to miss an update from. These instructions work the same on desktop and mobile, so it doesn't matter what device you're using.

Follow these simple instructions to see updates from your favourite pages:

  1. Search or go to the page you want to see

  2. Click 'Like' if you haven't already done so

  3. Beside the Like button is a 'Following' button - tap or hover your mouse over it

  4. Select 'See First'

Voila! When this page has a new post, you will see it at the very top of your newsfeed.

Spring Clean Your Online Presence With a Social Media Audit

Spring Clean Your Online Presence With a Social Media Audit

Spring is traditionally the time we open the windows on our homes and air out the winter must. Why not do the same thing for your social media presence as well?

The more active you become online, the more networks you start to use. A small handful of them will likely get used on a daily or weekly basis, but what about all of the services you signed up for ‘just to try’ and then forgot about? What about the accounts or listings that are created without your knowledge?

A social media audit, when done regularly (I recommend quarterly), should take no more than 30-60 minutes (depending on how many networks you use) - only a small amount of time out of your day!
